Why is my car A/C blowing warm air?
The most common cause is low refrigerant from a leak. Other causes include a failed compressor or clutch, a bad cooling fan, an electrical fault, or a blend door stuck on heat. Testing the system tells us which one it is.
Does my car A/C need a recharge every year?
No. The A/C is a sealed system and should not lose refrigerant under normal conditions. If it is low, there is a leak. Finding and fixing the leak keeps the system from going warm again.
Why is my heater blowing cold air?
Car heaters use hot engine coolant, so low coolant, a thermostat stuck open, a clogged heater core, or a blend door problem can all cause cold air. Low coolant can also lead to engine overheating, so have it checked soon.
